Some very interesting comments on this thread.
I currently have mixed feelings about Myer although I do believe in the long run it will rise above the current SP. Many times with such heavily shorted stocks they may recover strongly but often when they are so heavily shorted it gets much worse before it gets better. This is part of the reason why I am sitting out for now although I must admit I feel very tempted to buy in at these levels.
Imagine if we had a repeat of the old days when MYR had EPS of 29 cents and paid a dividend of 22 cents. Might never happen but if it does anyone buying now will be laughing all the way to the bank.
