Good to see that after the disarster of MMJV (Morobe Mining JV) which was a fair reason for Newcrests recent write downs was not a total deterant to the PNG market.
I reckon in Wafi operational costs blow out like MMJV then PNG will be dealt a huge blow on a soveriegn risk basis.
I know that there is rolling stock galore in PNG up for sale now the $20bn gas project has completed. These vehicles, etc, could find a new home at Wafi.
If the gold is exported through Lae Port (being upgraded by the Chinese as we speak) then the roads near the port will need a full make-over. Will be good for Lae and the Morobe region in general.
