Yes and yes. No question there.
But it is a bit more complicated. The extremists on the politics forum would have it that any political party lacks credibility, unless of course, they personally agree with the party. Therein lies the issue with Australian politics. The extremists demands ensure that bit by bit, almost imperceptibly, we move away from the democracy they profess to support.
Moondoongs statement is a tenet of democracy. We had better get used to dealing with the elected representatives that we have. Any other way leads away from democracy...and our societies have all been there before and we didn't bloody well like it. What we have may not be perfect but it's not too bad either. The extremists on HC are probably unable to recognise themselves thus, but we should fervently hope that their views remain where they belong, in the tiny minority.
