With respect Silvertrain, I fail to see how an anarchy agenda would serve anyone's interests (US, Russian, Saudi, Iranian ,Turkish, Kurdish or Big Oil).
The AP article refers to a tactical victory in a very long war. The Alawites will fight very hard for their lands (with or without Assad).
