A way to get around international calls with Voip (say you have family overseas) is create an account for the overseas family using an Australia local number. There will be a latency, probably around 500ms, but aslong as both have a decent broadband connection the data low and therefore quality will be fine. I am yet to try it but will have the opportunity in the next fortnight. I know a lot of Voip providers give free calls within their network so this would be a very cheap soultion.
