"Jesus plainly reveals it is the father who has life within himself (intrinsic life). it is from the father that Jesus receives his life. Jesus did not have intrinsic life. If Jesus was an incarnation of an indwelling distinction of the eternal God. He would not need for the father to grant life to him. He would have intrinsic life as the father does. Yet Jesus says he receives his life from the father.
John 5.26 For as the father has life in himself, so he has granted the son to have life in himself.
Jesus reveals it is the father alone who has immortal life in Himself and gives of this life to the son. The context of John 5 shows it is eternal life being discussed. Although Jesus' physical life comes from the father as is true with all humans, Jesus is not talking about God granting him his physical life in this passage. The context of John 5 is eternal life. If the son Jesus is co eternal with the father. he would have eternal life in himself as does the father and would not need to be granted such life by the father. Jesus was given eternal life through resurrection from the dead."
Yes all correct, but notice in john 5.26 you use this quote to support your view that the life Jesus possesses is a created life, this is the point we have difference of.Clearly in this verse,it clearly talks about a father granting his son life,a son is born, otherwise there would be another term used if this wasnt the understanding wanted to convey.
The life Jesus possessed in heaven as a spirit being was unconditional and eternal,he inherited this life from his father,Hebrews 1.4 says this and also Hebrews 1.3 says he is the express image of his father
In other words he inherited all attributes of diety! This fact puts a big red line straight through your theory that he was created being!one of the attributes of deity is immortality among others
This spirit life,he chose to forfeit
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men
Philipians 2.7
But emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men
Emptied himself of what?
He was a divine spirit being in heaven, who laid all that that entailed,to become a human being adn everything this entails ,he wept,he hungered,he was tired,if he still had his attributes as the divine spirit being, this would have been impossible, but demonstrates he wasnt the same being here on earth as he was in heaven,he was flesh and blood and totally relient on his father for everything he did,and so could be our example
He chose to come to earth to be mankinds savior
He became flesh and dwelt amongst us
Whoever denies this fact, which includes those who believes he was created,or trinitarians who believe he God himself whilst on earth
