I live in a large regional city. On Christmas eve a car hit a power pole cutting power to the business area.
The power was out for over 5 yours on the most hectic trading of the year.
An interesting observation was Coles, K Mart and a Liquor Land store had to close because they were in darkness and the tills would not operate.
Mean while Woolworths with a BWS Liquor outlet attached and a near by Dan Murphy Liquor store were able to trade as they had built in emergency generators installed in their outlets.
There was reduced lighting but they traded. All the customers that were shopping with WES flocked to WOW. Smart management I think.
I have just returned home from several days away from home over Christmas.
Fingers are to big to bother posting with my phone.
