    Folks,

The move towards reopening the Panguna mine obviously faces some demanding hurdles - to say the very least.

The latest con-man, Noah Musingu, who maintains the roadblocks to the "no go" zone is clearly up to the same game that the late "King" of Bougainville Francis Ona was playing.

The obvious intention of this parasite is to maintain the "no go" zone as long as possible so that he can extract whatever gold is easy to reach - the sale of which is funding his steadily growing mercenary army that's being swelled, and trained, by Fijian ex-military thugs.

When those with the legal title to the mine, the PNG govt and the local government, arrive to negotiate, Noah will hold all the cards and as such will extract the maximum deal for himself - all of course under the guise of protecting the local landholders interests.

Those local landholders and residents are the same ones who are complaining of being denied the benefits that the local government is providing all the other areas because of the roadblocks maintained by these armed thugs.

The con man has continued importing Fijians hoods by the hundred to ensure that he isn't winkled out of his liitle rort by force. After all, one can't expect to negotiate successfully from a position of weakness, can one?

He would be foolhardy to make a hasty deal unless the negotiation is backed by the credible use of force by the UN.

The local govt meanwhile is impotently calling for a "referendum". That referendumn will go the way that the local bully boy wants it to go so that he can remain, backed by his goons, the de facto decision maker re any mining or prospecting taking place.

He's probably figured that another UN intervention is highly unlikely and that it might eventuate only if the "referendum" went against him and he intends that it will not because he has the hired muscle to intimidate the locals.

And all these obstacles being erected in the way of reopening the mine are being funded by the gold extracted illegally from Panguna, extraction that is protected by the roadblocks and the maintenance of the "no go" zone. Perfect supporting loop.

Does this new "king" and his hired Fijian goons look like they will be dislodged soon or easily?

For my part I believe that the mine will reopen and prospecting will resume. But WHEN is the key - as I've posted before.

And the WHEN, at this stage, doesn't look like this year - financial or calendar.

Which is a damned pity as the resources boom might be over by the time the roadblocks - both real and figurative - are dismantled.

And when the mine reopens I fear "king Noah" and his thugs will be retiring with their pockets loaded with bribes in return for abdicating the coconut & banana "throne" currently protected with M16s and Kalashnikovs paid for with illegally mined gold.

Caveat: The above is only my opinion only. It may be wildly inaccurate and speculative and no one should risk their money on trading BCL shares based on it. I own BOC shares.
