I believe the burqa and the more insular forms of Muslim female dress are being used as an offensive weapon. In their own way. First, because they can wear it legally (a failure of government), second because they know most Australians find it offensive and oppressive, and third - just for the thrill of pizzing us off...for the insult to this country's freedom that the medieval garb is - and to rub our noses into the freedom we gave them - but they're insisting on ignoring because they can use it against us.
