I am not a frequent poster but will relate my story concerning Oil Search. My father was involved in work in PNG (Fly River) and told me everyone was abuzz with how big they were going to be... told me I would be mad not to buy some. Anyway I pick up a modest stake at around $1:00 and within a short while I see a $1:30 - so sell out with a handsome 30% profit - not bad for a very short wait. Course 10 years later OSH is $9:00 (heading to $10) (even in the recent sell off it is still around $8:00). I don't know how many millions of dollars the company was valued at when the SP was a dollar - but it is now over 12 billion dollars!...My baby boomer parents naturally still own their intial take and have enjoyed over 10 years of dividends along with the 900% increase in their capital.

This time (my second chance?) I am holding with a vice-like grip - haven't sold a single FAR share and am adding when I can. Maybe not too late for Gen X to learn some patience...
