Two years after myki became the only ticket in town, frustrated commuters say the system is still riddled with issues.
IT’S the $1.5 billion ticketing debacle created by Victoria’s previous Labor government, but the new Andrews Government says it’s not its problem.
Two years after myki became the only ticket in town, frustrated commuters say the system is still riddled with issues.
But when the Sunday Herald Sun asked the Government about its plans to fix the troubled smartcard system, it handballed the responsibility to bureaucrats at Public Transport Victoria.
When asked about myki, Andrews Government spokeswoman Helen McInerney twice referred questions to PTV.
After a third request she spruiked recent changes made to the system that were introduced under the Napthine government, before deferring to PTV.
“The changes to zone 1 and 2 will make public transport cheaper for the public in 2015,’’ she said.
“However there is always room for improvement and the Government expects PTV to be focused on improvements for passengers in 2015.”
