A shot in the arm IMO.
Ceramic Fuel Cells : Welcomes German MicroCHP Funding Regime Change
LONDON (Alliance News) - Ceramic Fuel Cells Ltd on Thursday noted a change in legislation in Germany on federal funding for microCHP systems, including its BlueGEN small-scale electricity generator.
Under the revised framework, a BlueGEN unit could attract up to EUR3,792 in federal funding, up from the EUR1,567 available under the previous legislation. This funding can be combined with incentives from other federal and state programmes available in the country, meaning the maximum total funding has been set at three times the federal level. A BlueGEN customer could, therefore, receive up to EUR11,376 in funding, subject to the availability of the additional incentives.
Barbara Hendricks, the German Environment Minister, said microCHP systems' contribution to climate protection are substantial owing to the high level of fuel efficiency and flexibility they offer, Ceramic Fuel Cells said.
The company said it welcomes the updated framework and additional incentives for microCHPs, adding the programme provides an opportunity to sell its BlueGEN units to German states which do not currently offer a specific funding programme.
Ceramic shares were up 3.1% to 0.335 pence on Thursday.
