Flow on effects of a reduced POO will mean widespread gas shortages from next winter to whenever POO gets back to say $80 to $100 (which will bring back shale & Qld/SA gas investment projects based on higher prices above breakeven point). Some players in NSW such as AGL r already forecasting such shortages with confidence.
Southern parts of Australia such as Tasmania, South Australia, parts of Victoria, Southern NSW might become very difficult to live in during winter months & might see wholesale depopulation (as heating bills become horrendous). ALL IMHO, this POO issue will have enormous flow on effects to energy bills that will cause significant social problems & housing movements unless subsidies r provided by Gov't.
