I might disagree with your conclusion if the hospitals decide to charge the same as Brand B or Brand B as a service fee and keep the full retail price which includes the $10 or $20 margin of profit plus the usual cost before the margin might be another $20 giving a total price of say $30 or $40. I'm not familiar with margins so these are just examples.

Also it often happens that suppliers will offer freebies for quantities too or other inducements to stick with an inferior product i would agree, however modern day clinicians would do it at their peril.
