the banks can and do ask for additional cash top-ups (ie dear mr company .....you have exceeded your limit ....plse sell (part/all) your hedge book to pay us .....now will be fine .......we do not care if you survive or not ......)

Rob - most of the aussie co's use an intercompany loan to fund the us subsidiary ...........some even book the chg in FX through the profit line .....there will be LOTS of writedowns !
