NST is a fantastic, solid, well-run company. Investors will do well in this stock and it has risen around 40% over the last few weeks. There is no comparison to ABU which is a spec stock that is trying to get a mine up and running. The potential is a 100% to 200% rise in ABU's sp if all goes well and the market likes its story. That is the potential reward versus the risk of it not going to plan.

I have no idea of ABU's cash burn rate. Some have commented on the management's lack of skill in getting a mine up and running, and perhaps selling out to others who can do it better. But seriously compared to the difficulties many other Gold companies face, even my grandma could runABU and produce the Gold! And as Bob has said, we could all go up there and help ABU out by digging the gold out by shovel, it is that easy to find in the veins at surface!

Since my post a few weeks ago TRY has gone up 100%, SLR has gone up 60%, and most other Gold stocks have had significant rises, as the sentiment for Gold stocks has improved, along with the POG. Those traders smart enough to realise that SLR and TRY etc. were oversold have made amazing gains in just a few weeks!

I am no expert in the stock market or the Gold stocks. I like ABU's story and its potential for a sp in the 50c to 80c+ range this year. However I am also buying into other stocks that are oversold or have great potential. There are a number of mining stocks that regularly rise and fall by at least 20%. Those who trade them are doing very nicely.

ABU is my longer term investment in a spec stock. It has a lot of Gold and more to be discovered, it will be a very low cost mining operation and the profits will be high at current Gold prices or higher. At around 30c ABU would appear a cheap spec stock, if the management's plan goes well. As spec stocks go, it doesn't get much better than this!
