Unfortunatly S, Coppersmith Capital's  lead a sharholder revlot was followed by a 13D by 3 ex-executives further paralising Alere - and it ain't over yet.  As Alere brought action citing a apparent abused of proxy rules by Coppersmith.  

Messy? Well more mire: In September co-founder and sacked Executive Zwanziger attempted to buy the company back.  But Alere then countered by dropped hints about the likelihood that it may be looking for a buyer in recent weeks, speculation has centered on large diagnostics companies such as Roche, Siemens, Abbott and Beckman Coulter.  Wolves?

Do they want to carve it up? I guess yes - a case where they see that the parts are clearly worth more than the whole.  BBI a plumb?
