On the ASIC site the quick link latest daily is showing MYR with 17.87% as % of Total Product in Issue Reported as Short Positions. This is the largest on the list.
Today's volume of shares exchanged was nearly double normal average so clearly the stock is getting a lot of attention.
With a nearly 10% yield the shorts must be based on expecting some bad results coming up. I get why MYR was ripe for shorting late last - consumer sentiment, mixed results and outlook difficult to predict with no updates for a number of months which includes its busiest period - but the level of short positions at this stage is surprising.
Am I missing something?
