I'm prompted to write this after amused observers recent moderation.
I agree with the moderation insofar as it was a breach of TOU but I agreed with a point I think AO was trying to make
Correct me if I've misunderstood but we are naïve if we believe all comments and views posted in this place.
We cannot trust all we hear or see and should not rely on what is said - folks shouldn't look as my view as gospel - they should check
There are opposing views here ( as everywhere) but within each group there is a subset of folks who are truthful and those that are - lets say selective to the point of being untruthful. Some believe to talk and share and ultimately advance their understanding and some just stir. They have their reasons - we just don't know what they are
We generally don't know who the folks are who post nor what their agendas are. Amused is correct to point out that blind belief in claims, included holder status, shouldn't be undertaken.
Those that know other members outside HC have an unfair advantage and know who they can trust.
Equally, as Early 1 points out some are ready and willing to back up statements with data and substantiation - others are not.
I have a vested interest ( just in case you hadn't noticed) - I keep buying and haven't sold a thing ( but can you trust me?)
I haven't got rose tinted glasses - I've just filtered vast amounts of detail over three years or more and like what I see ( or do I ?)
My point is all the bits reported should really be looked at not just taken on blind faith - this is most certainly a warning for new holders and mirrors advice in TOU. I do not envy the mods role
Don't trust any poster until you look at the quality of their offerings and research and make your own minds up
The phrase do you own research is thrown around but regularly ignored
