Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park handed precious metals prospector Scotgold a boost after agreeing to vary permissions for its Cononish mine.
The company’s share price almost doubled last week after an independent report estimated the size of the gold reserve at the site was significantly greater than previously estimated.
It sought approval to work the seam near Tyndrum 24-hours a day, six days a week, rather than on the previously permitted 16/6 basis.
The variation was granted unanimously.
CEO Richard Gray said Scotgold is now focused on completion of the optimised mine development plan and securing funding for construction of the project.
