Interesting admission (I have unlined in the article)
Labor leader makes GST gaffe
There is also a chance Mr Newman will keep a low profile today so attention is not detracted from Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk's GST gaffe.
What should have been a light-heated FM radio quiz backfired when the rate of GST alluded her.
She later brushed off the slip while campaigning in Gladstone to announce her law and order policy.
"Three radio interviews, didn't have my coffee, so, you know, these things happen," she said.
Mr Newman said he knew what the rate was but did not actually answer the question when he too was asked.
He said people would draw their own conclusions about Ms Palaszczuk.
"This campaign is crystallising about a contest about the people in the LNP who have a clear, economic financial management credentials to create jobs, fund the future, versus the Labor Party who do not have credibility," he said.
