this is also incorrect & just a personal idiosyncrasy. it is a common delusion that, for some reason, certain people identify themselves with Buddhism. for example, on this very forum, when it commenced, certain members declared they had the same realisations of Buddha, even they could not even quote a sentence from Buddha. it seems the 'Buddha Delusion' is as common as the 'God Delusion'
in Buddhism, the word "object" is found a lot
in the quote about 4 kinds of faith, it was said non-desire (dispassion) & Nirvana is the highest object of faith
Buddha himself reportedly said (as an example):
even if faith purportedly has no object, the 'no object' implied is still an 'object'
anyway, my point is it was incorrect to assert 'buddhism has no object'
consciousness must always have an object, otherwise it ceases
for example, the deepest meditation in Buddhism is called the cessation of perception & feeling, which is basically a state of unconsciousness, compared to a dead person
for example, when Buddha was about to die, there was a stage when everyone thought he was dead but one of the (psychic) monks declared: "No, he has entered into the cessation of perception & feeling". Buddha then emerged from that meditative state, entered a few more, and then passed away. (This also may hint what Jesus did).
