''Then we have nothing more to discuss. If you can't see something as obvious as this how can you see anything else.''

Have you considered the possibility that what appears 'obvious' from your perspective is seen through the filter of your faith. You either literally cannot perceive the evidence that goes contrary to your beliefs, or cannot acknowledge its existence.

You need to take all of the information into account in order to build a more accurate mental representation (belief) of the picture the Bible paints of its God. Not only the good bits, but the bad: the vindictiveness, the pathological need to be worshiped, the display of resentment when people turn to 'false gods' and the consequent punishments that exceed the 'crime' itself.

If this was a human being, it would not be an account of a healthy well adjusted individual, but a self absorbed narcissist who takes sides and condemns and kills, when, having the power and ability, could alter the course of events in order to create an ideal world.

The apologetic argument that a mistranslation means that God is not jealous in the true sense of the word fails on many levels, verses that paint a picture of an angry vindictive God, and also the given alternative, that the because the word Ganno means ''fiery passion'' or words to that effect, that this sanitizes jealousy.

It does not, in fact it changes nothing...'fiery passion'' in the form of resentment or a sense of threat to one's attachments, needs, worship, etc, is 'jealousy'' in it's true sense.

So the apologetic argument for 'good jealousy' fails on all levels, semantics, supporting references and most of all, the given descriptions of the character and nature of the Bible God.
