Re read my post. You misunderstand as did Pear.
Its not buyers its sellers that do it to get a higher price.
The buying is just interest In the market they match against, someone hedging fuel consumption for instance. So its not like the are matching a buyer to store it. They just hedge the price forward by selling in the market & store it.
Pardon my ignorance but who is actually storing the oil.
Can you give me a name please ?
And why are they storing it ?
Why don't they leave it in the ground and sell it forward ?
