re: beattie to await alp-abc article Another great leader piece in the Australian today on the Labor uranium dilemma. I can't see the Labor party endorsing uranium any time soon - the answer has to be the Federal Government taking control - they legally can and they have said they will if they have to. The tipping point could be the report of the Parliamentary committee on the resource industry which must come out with a very strong pro uranium stance - not only for mining but also enrichment and possibly waste disposal. The problem is that the Federal Government is enjoying watching Labor twist and turn while trapped in this hopeless ludite position and Howard will be reluctant to put a stop to the fun by taking control of uranium and putting them out of their misery -- but in the end that has to be the answer - hopefully not too far off.
