Seeing Julie bishop nearly breaking down in parliament and now this must be a kick on the guts to the thousands of Aussies families who have lost loved ones to heroin. It also must be destroying to those innocent families who have suffered in silence without any public or political support who have been subjected to our very weak sentences for those who have committed crimes against their loved ones.
Did politicians breakdown when a man stabbed to death a 19 yo kid in Sydney and his mother was told by our courts his life was worthless when his perp spent 18 months in prison.
These 2 men aren't victims. They cared so little for the life of an 18 yo kid they were willing to risk his life.
They didn't make a "little mistake". They ruined 7 people's lives and showed zero mercy and we have politicians nearly breaking down for them.
What a kick in the guts for every Australian who has been failed by our own system without an ounce of noise or care. Perhaps if Australians and politicians had their priorities right, Daniel morcombe would still be alive. Now that is something to cry about, but the public nor the gov cared about letting his murderer out after 5 years in total for raping 2 kids on 2 separate occasions.
Zero perspective!

Cmon Nicky -- there are no politicians showing genuine concern -- like the majority here on HC.
The reason for the feigned outrage/near crocodile tears has a lot more to do with the prior shenanigans , the tit for tat, the backdoor favours -- politics in general.
There is no true regard for what happens to these guys by our politicians.
