If Abbott remains then labor gets in at the next election for sure - then Greece here we come. I don't believe CO2 has any significant effect on the climate, but if the world wants to put a tax on CO2 then so what? Everyone has to pay it - rich, poor, pensioner, unemployed, young, old, everyone. So it is a better tax than "squeeze the worker and pay it to the bludger" (income tax). Besides, if you dont want to pay it then put your house on solar (with batteries) and get your energy for free.
