"At the start this was a good policy about making medicare more affordable to help reign in the budget deficit. Where it went wrong was when they announced it was to fund a $20 billion medical research fund. From that time on the government was sending a confusing message about reducing a budget deficit while increasing spending. It didn't make sense."
Well Kerbey I may not have your level of expertise in such matters but I would have thought a "medical research" fund would provide enormous benefits including reducing healthcare's contribution to the budget deficit by improving health outcomes.
