A huge thanks to the volunteers who helped out in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney this week delivering a message to prospective investors in Venture Minerals' proposed. Mt Lindsay tin mine in the Tarkine.
In the first hour of trade after the Brisbane action we saw the share price drop 3.5%, followed by the Melbourne action seeing a drop of 12.7% in the first three hours (before settling at 10.9% down for the day).Finally today we protested in Sydney and saw the share price plummet 22.45% (before settling at 18.37% down for the day). Venture Minerals started this week with a plan to sell it's destructive proposal to investors, and through peaceful public protest we have seen over 30% wiped off the share price, and $2.3million wiped off the market capitalisation of the company.
The take home message is clear. Mining the Tarkine is bad business"
