Investment banks often publish research on their clients... that's why Goldman, MS, etc. keep around equity research teams... the divisions themselves are always loss-making but they help the I-Banks gain business...if you're just now figuring that out you are very, very behind...
As for the research itself, this is an interesting conspiracy theory but they also provide a sensitivity table where you assume market size and probability of success, and can come up with whatever valuation number you'd like (most of which are not round numbers). So please keep the hocus pocus for some other BS thread. If you have something substantiated to add I am happy to debate it...
I am happy with my VLA holdings and the Roth PT of A$3+. If you don't like theirs, look to the Edison write-up which also has VLA doubling from today's price...
