Why don't we just compare it to micro speakers only first. My view is that it seems to offer all of the following advantages. Sound quality, spl increase, energy efficiency, form factor for manufacturers and size/weight benefits.
If you step back a bit and look at this market alone, given the results they have announced, this relative to the micro speaker mkt, looks incredibly good.
No amplifier required also verses micro speakers currently.
I think it's just going to take a while for more info to come to mkt, and the mkt to get more comfortable with the final product. Apple is on target to sell 70 mill iPhone for the quarter at $700 a pop, this is a massive mkt, the micro speaker mkt by itself.
