Group allocations may not be blinded, but to ensure the highest standards (validity of results and exclusion of bias) it would be in the interests of those involved that the steps from data collection to statistical analysis will be conducted by investigators who are blinded to treatment allocation. Without burdening HC readers ... if there were no ethics committees to ensure prospective approval, then a scenario might ensue where a mildly positive result is achieved but deemed questionable. Beyond this, there are still several steps before any increase in volume of sales would be observed.

This is not a placebo-controlled trial; the control group is an existing standard. That is, comparing S with S+F.
