SYDNEY — Australia expects to decide within weeks whether to join the China-backed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Saturday.
However, Mr Abbot said Canberra wanted to be assured first that the fund would not become a tool for pursuing Beijing's political interests in the region.
