I don't pay higher rates because I have had a credit card since they were first introduced to Australia and can only think of one time when the total amount was not paid off at the end of the month, that time I was late due to holidays
So basically I don't care what the rate is I never pay it, I never pay charges I just avail myself of the benefit of using their money for the time allowed and their free bookkeeping system
So if everyone used their card as I do the banks would be able to drop rates dramatically
