I read the AFR in the coffee shop this morning and saw the article ChrisCarter kindly posted for the benefit of us non subscribers. Written by Simon Evans, and in the context of Jay Weatherill's imminent Royal Commission into the nuclear industry, it surprised me to see a direct public reference to our so far pretty private JV stoush.
GA won't like that. They are almost paranoid in their quest for privacy. I don't think they'd like any public reference to the mention of that risible offer either. Makes them look cheapskate, vindictive and opportunistic.
Clearly the offer wasn't confidential, and probably couldn't be under asx rules. Just hope it hasn't been promulgated to lower shareholders expectations.
Interesting too I thought that Steve Johnston is quoted as saying that any practical recommendations from the Royal Commission are "likely to come too late to influence the corporate stoush." .. Could be that our MD sees a better, more acceptable, offer in the wings.
Good luck to all on St Paddy's day. Hope the luck of the Irish will extend into April. Only a few weeks away and my money is on Q caving in first this time.
