Sorry if anyone got there portfolio badly damaged from this today. It's scary how stocks can gap down so hard and fast - especially if you're a longer term investor and have been holding for a few months or years. It's happened to me a few times - if i ever think about taking a sizeable position on a stock - i usually buy cfd's and pay a little extra for a guaranteed stop in case something like this happens.
