Magix, briefly, Greg Hunt has control of the ERF multi-billion dollar slush fund. He has been quoted on record that CSIRO have a good thing going with DICE and that it will go a long way to clean up brown coal power station emissions.
CSIRO in their presentations have highlighted the efficiency and suitability of Exergen's CHTD process for fuel production from brown coal for DICE.
As in my previous post, if Greg Hunt wants to get the DICE units installed in LV power stations he has the means to do that, with or without, using the ERF auctions. That DICE/Exergen has not appeared on the auction list yet does not mean they never will. Maybe their contracts with the power stations are not yet sorted or they are not in a position yet to bid. They have to wait for a signal that Man Turbo and Diesel are ready to provide the first prototype DICE unit for installation in Australia? Who knows, all has been very quiet on that front for some time now. Auctions are a regular occurence, they could be organised to bid for the second auction, but IMO Greg Hunt will give the LV power stations a special status designation just to ensure that the DICE units get rolled out as soon as feasible. DICE units installed in Victorian power stations is Greg Hunts and the Federal Libs best chance of proving to the electorate that their Direct Action policy can achieve the cuts to emissions that they stated it would.
The fact that the ERF auctions are now up and running is just simply a good sign that the Federal Government is on track with their Direct Action policy. it is this policy that will drive the incremental uptake of DICE (and CHTD) by brown coal power stations in Victoria and Australia.
