Maybe that's how a major correction (or crash) eventuates?
It seems people think it's very safe to buy every dip but one of these dips will be the real start of a major correction, then everybody who is so overexposed will turn around and lighten their portfolio and hence accelerate any fall creating more selling and so forth.
Buying every dip sounds very risky to me. People need to sell very quickly so as to not see their winnings dwindle away very fast as their holding gets very large
