Spookfish (SFI) 6.5c, Nearmap (NEA) 50.5c

THE fledgling geospatial mapper is now free to pursue the rollout of its imaging services after grown-up rival Nearmap withdrew preliminary discovery action.

Nearmap founder Stuart Nixon is a major holder in Spookfish and last week joined the upstart as a “strategic adviser” on $150,000 a year.

Given other ex-Nearmap folk are involved, Nearmap feared its IP might have been infringed.

Now it’s buttercups and daisies, at least until someone informs your columnist otherwise.

Both mobs are Perth-based — not that there’s anything wrong with that. Both are spec buys.
