I donth think that math is necessarily correct the more holes you drill does not change the quoted % chance of success at the next hole - what does come into play is the law of averages ( more chance of finding oil drilling 100 holes than 5 )- Just because number 36 comes up 3 times in a row on a roulette wheel doesn't mean the odds of number 36 coming up again on the 4th spin are any higher its still a one in 36 chance.
