Thank you for the thought you put into that post, but I call you on several points.
1. We should not say hole 2 is a dud till we have seen the assays.
2. The assays for hole 1 surprised us with a tasty little intercept at 4 g/t Au. That would not be visible with the naked eye and could easily be missed with a magnifier if visible at all.
3. A continuation of that shoot into the hole 2 region, maybe with a taste of Cu would be more than acceptable IMO.
4. We cannot expect to hit the jackpot with just two holes however much we may have hoped for it.
5. Now we can do down hole EM and the results of that, combined with assays and the above ground EM should give the brains trust a much better look at what is there.
6. And if there is something down there, we are much closer to finding it.
Think for a moment about what we are looking for. The remains of an under sea volcano and the sulphides which settled out on the sea floor as well as the 'feeder zone' which did not make it to the vent. All folded and distorted as the New England Fold Belt was formed. The silver mineralisation which was found several years ago seems to represent the furthermost extent of the sulphides, we know the grades get better and Zn appears at depth and on moving westward, now in hole 1 (in the wast) we find a shoot of gold which could have come from the 'feeder zone'. It still makes a very plausible story IMO.
