I've often thought about starting the Shorter's Party, I've meet so many who have been badly burnt by shorting or piss poor business management crashing the cart and walking away from the sh*t storm - Hotcopper has over 250000 members - some posts I've read over the last few years on different threads, tells me there's enough smart people out there to run rings around some of our political leaders.
* Ban Shorting - good enough to do so during the GFC, get parties to explain how shorting helps small investors
* Beef up ASIC - the Libs wanted to cut funding, the GFC in part was due to regulators being gutted.
* Explain to those that don't invest how having financial institutions serve up GFC scenarios is not in their interest.
* High- frequency trading, Etc, Etc - so many more
Throw in a royal commission for good measure - might be one way of seeing value come back to the market, I be happy if anyone wants to join up or add to the list - we'll also need a leader if anybody is interested.
