mr_delta Pencils weren't the key graphite use "in olden days" for Graphite, it was Steel Making that used specific grades, flake etc. Remember that the Steel Industry was HUGE late 19th , all 20Th Century. Buiding RailRoads, 2 Wars of Armaments, Cars, SkyScrapers whatever. Lot of Graphite Knowledge developed during these centuries by Big Steel. Name some Steel Companies from then , still operating today? and KNL has Krupp Letter of Intent to back KNL in historic TanzGraphite
