The softening up process by the media has already began. There is little doubt now that we are about to be screwed by both sides in Canberra in a rare show of bipartisanship.
For a lot of us it looks like 30 years of frugality, scrimping and saving in order to become fully self funded is all in vain. Like hundreds of thousands of people, I get not one cent from the taxpayer - in the area I live in, bulk billing GPs are like rocking horse poo, my informal co-payment is around $30.
It's now only a question of when and how bad the outcome will be.
So what to do?
1) Live like a king (or a Federal MP) and blow the lot in 5 years and then go on the age pension?
2) Sell up and emigrate to NZ, USA or Malaysia or ???.
3) Sell up, move the money to some section of the grey economy, get a tattoo and a face piercing and then join the the ranks of " The Entitled" at CenterLink?
4)?
Any other good ideas?
Anyone have suggestions of countries that are good to retire to?
