3g

My understanding is that the "3G" mentioned in the latest announcement refers to the 3rd generation of Quiktrak transponder.

There is some comment that it refers to 3rd generation mobile telephone networks. I understand that they will be implemented in the 1900-2100 MHz band which is no where near the 900 MHz band that the China version of the Quiktrack transponder will use. In Oz, the 400 MHz band is used.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
