1. They have coped by flying around and breeding. No problem at all. That is why they are still in existence today. That is, Untill they get hit by a 40mtr blade. Why dont you try arguing with planes. At least they do get sucked in to a turbine occasionally.
2. Never seen a bird fly into a power line yet. Seen a few dead flying foxes, but that is most likely from touching two wires when landing.
