This has allowed you to display your superior wisdom and personal success story on many occasions, and with long-winded posts. You have intimidated less confident posters and helped precipitate a fearful and combative atmosphere. Posts on MSB lack a sense of humour, personal warmth and generosity of spirit--the result of combat fatigue”
Rappa,
You are misinterpreting what I said to Reggie. I said that I would cease posting - not just because people don’t agree with me, or because they don’t like what I am saying or the way I say things - but that I would do so if it was explained to me how my posts were seen as me “trying to destroy people’s hopes and wealth” (Reggie’s words, not mine).
I didn’t undertake to stop posting merely because my posts are considered to detract from “a sense of humour, personal warmth and generosity of free spirit”.
If you would prefer to not hear from me, then you can invoke the Ignore feature on HotCopper, which you could apply not just for six months, but you need never have to read my long-winded posts ever again.
So I’m not sure why I should self-censor, when you could quite easily censor me yourself.
And if intimidation, fear and a combative atmosphere are problems, then HotCopper also has remedy for that. You can petition moderators to keep me – or anyone - from posting per this site’s guidelines and Terms of Use.
But to effectively say, “please go away, because I don’t like what you are saying,” is not how discussion boards function, I’m afraid.

“My information is that there is no escrow arrangement on the stock. Given your observation that companies these days are willing to field calls from interested investors, this might be something you want to confirm with them Au contraire, Madam, it is YOU who is wrong. Your information source is flawed. Extremely happy to check with you again in 12 months time. And golly, thanks for your snide little observation about checking with the company, because that's just what I did. Keep up the good work though. Always good to have a contrary view”
So, to be quite clear here, Councilgritter, you checked with the company (that’s Mesoblast, I assume, not Celgene), and someone there told you that the stock that is being issued to Celgene as part of the deal announced earlier this week is defnitiely escrowed?
I find that astonishing.
And that’s not a voluntary escrow? It’s legally enforceable?
And what is the escrow period? Did they tell you that?
And can I ask who you made contact with at the company?

and also,
“Thanks Harry, my point was there is little to fear from them looking under the bonnet - contrary to the disparaging claim of another.”
Nope, Antibody, that’s not what I said. I made no mention at all nor said anything to infer or imply that Celgene could take any MSB IP and do with it as they please.
Nor did I say or imply that there was anything to fear from Celgene accessing whatever it is they are going access.

I told you not to be rude to Madamswer. Even he will not talk to you now.
Harymeso, the reason I didn’t respond, is because I simply didn’t know the answer to the question(s) you were asking.

So maybe I will just block all the irritating messages”
Asxrider, that’s a very sensible thing to do. It amazes me why more people don’t do the same.

“Sorry Madams but I have to agree with Rappa. The superior tone of your posts in my view discourages discussion and could make geniune posters feel intimidated. Content of your posts at times are valuable but you seem to lack empathy for the opinions of others - in my opinion.”
Djaw,
The solution is quite simple: if people don’t like the style or tone of other posters, they can press the “Ignore” button.
And if posters are offensive or intimidating, then those who feel offended or intimidated can call on HotCopper moderators to ensure that the offending and intimidation ceases.
But to say, “I don’t like what you say or the way you say things, so can you please stop posting for a period of time?” … well, can you imagine if everyone on discussion boards adopted that position?
