The trouble with West PNG is that Indonesia has been colonising it with it's own people in the place of the poor buggers it's slaughtered. If the Indonesian military left, their 'settlers' would carry on the genocide instead of the army, in self defence of course, as the survivors tried to atone for their loss. I can't imagine Indonesia leaving and taking all those people back.
There is a global trend of governments committing atrocities and simply denying it with impunity. For those on the receiving end the world is a cesspit without hope. The countries that ignore it are inviting the same fate for themselves.
Does anyone get the feeling we're on the edge of another huge global conflict?
