Aztec Resources Ltd. (AZR AU), a Perth-based mining company, surged 5.5 cents, or 30 percent, to 24 cents. The company said it plans to start work on its A$108 million ($80 million) Koolan Island iron ore project in Western Australia after signing a land access agreement with an Aboriginal group, and after it was granted a mining lease from the government.
