26 April 2006 Company Announcements Office Australian Stock Exchange Limited Level 4 Exchange Centre 20 Bridge Street SYDNEY NSW 2000 Dear Sir / Madam APPLICATION FOR EXPLORATION LICENCE IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA BADJA URANIUM PROJECT - ELA59/1249 The Directors of Reefton Mining N.L. are pleased to announce that in accordance with a programme of investigating uranium exploration opportunities an application for an Exploration Licence (ELA59/1249) of 205 square kilometres has been made covering a potential uranium bearing palaeochannel at Yalgoo in Western Australia. The palaeochannel is interpreted to be 30 kilometres in length and 2 kilometres in width. It is defined by an airborne radiometric anomaly shown on the accompanying diagram (Regional database, Bureau of Mines and Resources). Radiometrics are commonly used to locate palaeochannels that are potentially uraniferous. The strength of radiometric readings however, can be masked by thin overlying clay layers and accordingly channel sampling and drilling of the anomalous paleochannel is required to determine its uranium content Other paleochannels in the region carry strong uranium mineralisation distributed in the sands and clays of these fossil drainage systems. The most important discovered to date is Yeeleerie (Western Mining Corporation) with ore reserves estimated in 1982 as 35 million tonnes grading 0.15% U3O8. These valley calcrete deposits concentrate uranium transported as carbonate complexes from the regions granite source rocks. No ground exploration on the area covered by ELA59/1249 has been carried out for uranium. 1st Floor, 47 Ord Street West Perth Western Australia 6005 Email: [email protected] Website: www.reeftonmining.com.au Tel: (61 8) 9322 7822 Fax: (61 8) 9322 7823 A C N 010 546 675 The Company has submitted the application into the Department of Industry and Resource’s (Minerals and Petroleum) expedited list and will execute a standard heritage agreement with the Native Title claimants. Commencement of the proposed work programme included within the application submitted with the DOIR provides for a ground radiometric survey, channel sampling and drilling to determine the dimensions of the alluvial channel and the grade of potential layers of uranium enrichment. Yours faithfully BS MOORE Chairman This report accurately reflects information compiled by Mr G.R. Hemming, MAusIMM.,MAIG., a Director of Roscoria Pty Ltd, who has sufficient experience which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration and to the activity which he is undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2004 Edition of the ‘Australian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserve’. Mr Hemming consents to the inclusion in the report of the matters based on his information in the form and context in which it appears.
